Physiotherapists are qualified health professionals who assess and treat physical needs, whilst understanding you as an individual.
We practice from a ‘biopsychosocial’ framework, meaning we have the clinical knowledge to assess an injury, disability or health condition, plus expert communication skills to understand the psychosocial context of your health.
Physios work with you to assess and treat your physical condition whilst also providing ways to prevent future issues from reoccurring. Physiotherapists work across all age groups, including children, adults and the elderly.
Physiotherapists use a variety of assessment and treatment techniques all with the aim of supporting clients to improve their physical function, movement and independence.
Depending on your needs, we work as your primary therapist or as part of a team. Some clients require other services such as Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy in which case we work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to best meet your needs.
We start by assessing your current abilities and identifying your goals. Together we break down your personal goals into achievable steps, and work with you to address roadblocks, increase motivation, and progress to optimal outcomes.
Physiotherapists use evidence-based intervention to assist you to pursue your goals. We use effective and beneficial treatment and management strategies to help you move better and improve your health and wellbeing. We also focus on preventative measures and education to promote self-management and assist you in taking control of your own health.

Everyone’s needs vary and can also change over time. Recognising this, our physio treatment is individualised and goal focused to meet the specific circumstances of our clients. For ease and convenience, treatment is delivered to our clients in their homes or local community settings. We can begin working within the participant’s own home, assessing function and participation at a practical level, and effectively transition participants to gym/exercise or other environments as appropriate.
We support clients who may require either short-term treatment to reduce injury, or alternatively treatment over a longer time-frame when goals such as improved mobility or pain reduction are being sought. Our physiotherapists can develop a plan to help with either scenario, all with the ultimate aim of assisting clients to achieve their daily living goals.
Our physiotherapists can work individually to provide the support that’s required, or collaboratively as part of a broader health team that includes occupational therapists. National OT has highly skilled and caring staff for these disciplines, improving the quality of care that our clients receive.
